Distributed Massive MIMO for LEO Satellite Networks

The ultra-dense deployment of interconnected satellites will characterize future low Earth orbit (LEO) mega-constellations. Exploiting this towards a more efficient satellite network (SatNet), paper proposes novel LEO SatNet architecture based on distributed massive multiple-input multiple-output (DM-MIMO) technology allowing ground user terminals to be connected cluster satellites. To end, we investigate various aspects DM-MIMO-based design, the benefits using architecture, associated challenges, and potential solutions. In addition, propose joint power allocation handover management (D-JPAHM) technique that jointly optimizes processes in cross-layer manner. This framework aims maximize throughput minimize rate while considering quality-of-service (QoS) demands capabilities Moreover, devise an artificial intelligence (AI)-based solution efficiently implement proposed D-JPAHM manner suitable for real-time operation dynamic environment. best our knowledge, is first work introduce study DM-MIMO SatNets. Extensive simulation results reveal superiority solutions compared conventional approaches literature.
